DIY hanging wall art (circle photos)

On my last day at my grandma´s I looked through old photos and just got the feeling that I had to make something with some of them. And I still had some black paint and this wooden stick so I combined it as good as possible. This is actually a nice idea for small rooms, where you just want to hang up some pictures. Either you make a big collage, whats pretty much what I will do as soon as I got my own place, or you make different mobiles like this one I have made here.

This one is really easy and you can make it in several different styles (in a certain pattern, hanging, beside the door, above the bad, double sided etc.) So here we go. Please show me, if you try out something similar. Would be cool. Feel hugged. xoxo

Simple, basic but still really nice.
I´ve started of with drawing circles on an old box and cutting them
out with a stanley knife. It´s very easy to use a glas as a template.
Than I took my paint and coloured the circles and the wooden stick.
Now you can use old photos or print out your favorite ones.
Cut them out in the same circle shape and small enough to stick
them onto the black basics.
Now you can decide if you want to stick them together with some
hot glue like I did or if you put them on strings and let them hang.
I found it easier this way and somehow it matched the idea better.

Awesome sunset (Althofen, Carinthia)

Oh wow, my grandma sent me these photos from a sunset she enjoyed some weeks ago as she was in therapy in Althofen, Carinthia. Just had to show you and hope you like them too. Would be nice to live in a flat which has a view like this, right?

Prima la musica

Oh and what I just have to share with you is following. There is a music contest for kids and youngsters in Carinthia (or even for whole Austria, not sure about that) called "Prima la musica" and my small cousin took part in this. She is nine years old and learned to play harp in less than five months until she had her first concert. Amazing. I am so impressed and such a fan of her playing her first self composed play on the harp infront of such a jury. She did really well and made together with the two other girls the first prize with honors. Really great!

Here you got the jury.
Well she was a bit nervous, but one hardly noticed.
The contest took place in Ossiach near Villach in really beautiful rooms.
And you wouldn´t believe it but this was the quote in her fortune cookie afterwards at lunch. Funny!

Lazy day at home

What did I do the last days in Austria? Well organizing, attending meetings, going to offices, filling in and sending off formulars, packing my stuff, still looking for a good small flat in Hamburg and so on. It was very stressful and chaotic but also nice and very important for me to spent the last days in Austria with my dad and my grandma. The most important thing for me is to keep in contact with my family, so I will send a weekly update with some photos to them via mail. Think that´s a good idea. And I really hope, that the good weather will come back soon.

My grandma cooked some yummy meals for me sometimes.
We only had two or three sunny hours during the last week in austria.

Packed bags for Hamburg

Hey guys! Well after I showed you my empty room I somehow also wanted to share my by now gained packing skills...yes, I am pretty proud of them. It still takes long until I decide what to pack in the end, but as soon as those things are fixed it´s time to roll and...tetris. Now I am also curious how you pack your stuff? Please show me pictures.

I had one big bag and one backbag.
One side with shoes, corsages, shirts, plaid shirts, underwear and socks.
And on the second side jackets, cardigans, trousers and sleepwear.

My baby Victoria (guitar)

Hey guys! You wouldn´t believe it, but I finally got my own guitar. Yes my very own guitar. And somehow I thought that it should get a name like my first car (Mike). So my I introduce you my darling Victoria. What do you think for my first one? Maybe I´ll switch to a better western guitar in one or two years, we´ll see.

Fabrics and ideas

So as I took the photos of the patchwork bags we also took the shance to go to the "Stoffeule" a small cute fabric store in Innsbruck. A dangerous store for me, because I found so many fabrics I´d like to have. Luckily I already packed my sewing machiene, but still there are some ideas I´d like to work out someday. Let me know in the comments what you would do with those patterns. Feel hugged. xoxo

Such a fan of this arrow pattern, perfect for a tank top.
Also like the anchors and the fabrics with the comic style, but for
those I don´t have a proper idea ´till now.
Oh but these anchors...would love to have a sweater blazer or
vest with the blue one.
I like asian patterns in general, but most of the time I would have
no idea what to make out of them, just like with this one.
Oh I so like these three. The striped one for a shirt, the one with
the dropes maybe for a slouchy backbag and the one with the
dreamcatcher...ehm like for everything I would like to have.
Short sports pants, skater skirt another shirt..something like this.
Oh and I was thrilled by this one. The native pattern, the specks, the
big dreamcatchers, so wanted to have this one, but what should I
make out of it?
And wouldn´t look those bears be awesome on a backbag? I think so!

Patchwork bags

Another post I wanted to show you for very long now is this one about the patchwork bags my stepmom makes by and for herself. Yes, you heard right, those bags are handmade. I kinda like patchwork, but wouldn´t have the patience to to that myself. Anyway hope you like them too. Let me know in the comments which one is your favourite and if you would wear one like those?

Until now she finished those four bags together with some smaller purses.
I really like to colour combination here with blue and brown.
This was one of the first she made. Simple, small and cute.
A bigger one for shopping? Here we go, blue again...well we like blue.
We like blue very much, mostly because we love to dive.
This for example would be great as a swimming bag or similar.
Would love to have one like this, but smaller.
So which one do you like best? Please let me know.

Last stress in Innsbruck but delicious food

Hey guys! Well I never told you about my last days in Innsbruck and how terribly empty my room looked in the end. Well wanted to give you some last insights from there. After all it is still hard to be moving. Again moving away from a brother and knowing to see my dad even less in the future. Yes, that´s hard, but my dad promised, that we won´t, under no circumstances loose contact and will keep each other up to date. Same counts for my grandma. Anyway so here are the promised insights. Feel hugged. XOXO

A small "good bye" cake from my stepmoms mom...ergo tyrolian grandma.
Oh this was yummy and just looked so nice, right?
So this is/was my room.
Above is how it looked like for the last three years.
And below how I left it after my last night in Tyrol.
On the last day dad cooked for him and me and it was delicious.
And as the last boxes were put in the car I also said bye to our
tyrolian grandma, who just rearranged her flowers in the kitchen.
I´m gonna miss those colourful orchids...and my brother...and like
you know, my family and the mountains, lakes and so on.
On our last night there I finally watched "The marsian" with my dad.
Really like this movie and gotta read the book!

First spring flowers

Oh gosh, I almost forgot. We found our first spring flowers behind the house everywhere in the garden. This is so nice, because now winter is over...at least for me. And I plan to make some nice "upcoming spring" posts for you. Wish me luck to get some great photos for you. Wish you a nice weather for this week and never forget to smile! Feel hugged. xoxo

Changing plans and a lot of swimming

Well yes, we wanted to go tobogganing again yesterday, but the weather was way to warm so the snow was more mud and water than anything else. So after we were all wet we decided to go swimming instead ad so we did. Also did many other people. Anyway it was a tough but fun. As you know you are not allowed to take pictures in the pool area, so I am sorry for not having more photos to show you. Today we went swimming again, but luckily it was almost empty so I could swim a lot. And again no more photos than these two. Sorry! Tomorrow you´ll get more. Promise! Hope you had a nice weekend. Feel hugged. xoxo

Look at this mess....terrible.
Well and this is us getting dressed after swimming.
Sorry that´s it for today.

Tobogganing on a sled

Hey guys! Yesterday we went tobogganing with the new sleds. Gosh I haven´t done that for ages. Last time I had been small and young enough so my dad could drag me up a hill on the Gerlitze (mountain) with the sled...meaning was like six years old or something like that. You see ages ago. Anyway everyone of us had a sled to drive alone. Let me tell you it was really fun. Today my body aches horribly but it was so worth it. The route is about 5km long and has some sharp turns where I sometimes lost control and fell, but never got hurt much. Even my little brother raced down the track like crazy....alone as a five year old boy. Amazing. We also ate some lunch up the mountain in the station restaurant, but had to leave as the track became to icy and it got very hard to steer the sled. Back home we snacked a bit, drank some tea and took a rest before reading together and playing with the little one. As you see...it was really nice yesterday. Feel hugged xoxo
It was a bit cramped in the car, but luckily I don´t need much space.
Here are the new sleds, a small one for my brother and another big
one so dad and my stepmom had one each. I got the old third one,
that was very hard to steer, but it was fun anyway.
Right half an hour after I took that photo it also started to snow.

DIY Spring bracelets

You wouldn´t believe it but I am actually moving soon. The last three years in Innsbruck were pretty good, I learned a lot, collected new experiences and found new friends. Now that I´m leaving this city I wanted to say thank you to the people, who helped me with university and more. Also I wanted to make small thank-you-gifts for some of those friends. And what do you give friends to remember each other? Yes, bracelets or photos. Well I won´t show you the photos I give away, but the bracelets seem to be a perfect DIY idea to share with you. Hope you like them. They are easy, personal and changeable, depending on who you give it to. If you try, please send me pictures. Feel hugged. xoxo

Aren´t they pretty? Fashionable and still kinda basic.

At first I looked for some nice coloured wool that would match the different persons.
Also found these nice leaf pendants in a craftstore...just had to take them with me.
Then I started to pick some colours and braid the bracelets together
with the leaves.

Knot on the end and here we are. I am really fond of them.
The colours, the leaves, the style, it just matches.

I will propably make more of them for myself and wear them like this for example.
