Canoeing and kajaking

Well I have to admit, that I was really worried about getting in contact with my new neighbours here, for that I am not so good in making new friends. It is not difficult for me to talk to people and be nice and even funny sometimes, but to actually get in contact and make friends...well that´s hard. So I was even more surprised as my neighbour here invited me to a small canoeing tour with his friends. That was so nice of him, and he propably doesn´t realize how thankful I was for that opportunity. Of cause I said yes and we went canoeing last monday (by the way, little me took the kajak instead, so the other four could use one canoe instead of two). It was so amazing, we had good weather, this international group of great people (from Iran, Vietnam and USA) were super friendly and we had lots of fun during these few hours. After we got back I even went to eat Kebab with the guys. It was a lot for one day (for me) but I am so glad that I went there and would repeat that any time again.

Still decided to dress warm, what was a really good idea.
We also took small breaks in between to rest our arms.
And all those spots were so beautiful like here.
Most of the time I tried to stay behind them, because I had no idea
where to go and don´t wanted to be in the way while making photos.
Aww and look who passed me by. There were actually a lot of small baby ducks around that day.
This little hous just caught my attention as we paddled by it.
Oh there was this one channel that was covered in green, trees, bushes, everything, it felt so awesome!
Sometimes I really got the feeling of being lara croft or something.
Strange, I know, but it was fun!
And in the end we really had sunny weather and amazingly nice views of Hamburg.

Tried new recipes

Oh before moving here I tried out some new recipes I wanted to share with you, because they were so yummy, that I will make them here again as soon as getting back next week. The first one was a simple breakfast idea that was already on my table several times, but this one is more...pimped? It just tasted better. And the second was for lunch as the potatoes needed to be eaten before they get bad and I still had some mushrooms left. So here we go and I hope you try and enjoy them to. xoxo

Breakfast:
Take vanilla yogurt (0,1% fat) and cut an apple into small pieces. Give your yogurt in a bowl and put on some cornflakes before adding the apple pieces and finish it with some honey on top. Make yourself a nice cup of tea and get yourself some water before every meal.

Lunch:
Peel and cut some potatoes and mushrooms and put them together with some oil into your pan. Heat it up and roast them until they are well done. Add some sauce and herbs and go on until the potatoes are nicely golden brown. Put everything in a bowl and use the preheated pan to saute some slices of bacon and top your meal with them. Here again, don´t forget about some water or juice for drinking.

This is such a delicious booster in the morning, I wouldn´t believe it if I hadn´t tried.
And it even looks good.
I am so thinking about getting me some strawberries soon!
And here you go with the lunch recipe. I also added some rosemary.
Not too healthy to be honest, but soooo good!

Through the city

The longer I live here, the more my sight of this city changes for me. It is still big and loud and wonderful, but I start to think more and more about things I need, where to get them, who to ask, how to spent time best. It´s becoming less running around and more exploring with a plan. At least when I find time for that. So I just got some small shots here for you that caught my attention throughout the city and there will surely come more every now and then.

A nice sign infront of a store.
Going underground for the subway station.
Enjoying interesting forms and colours up in the sky.
And yes, just observing people waiting for the bus like I do.

Floded "Miami Beach"

For a few days my BF came to visit me, he actually surprised me with that and of cause this made me really happy. We cooked together, watched some "Face Off", went to the city center and went for a walk on "Miami Beach", wich I saw floded for the first time. It was really amazing and I love to walk along beaches anyway, especially with him, we even had some sunny weather, eventhough the wind was pretty fresh and cold. However I made some nice photos there, that need to be shared with you guys. Enjoy and feel hugged.

As ships came by, the water rose even higher.
We also came across this beautiful old school ship...really like that.
You see usually you are able to walk on this small path on the left and still look at some stones and beach beneath you.
Don´t really know why I took this photo, but it kinda caught me.
See? No Walking on the trak today, it was all wet and shiny...and beautiful to look at.
But we still passed the cafe here, like I always do.
And you know I have to take pictures of waves again and again...sorry.
But I really like the colourplay of brown, white, blue and green here.
No matter of the wind, we weren´t the only ones talking a walk here.
And with the sun breaking through the wind was not that bad.
As we got back on the boat to head back to the harbour the sun
just looked amazing with the upcoming clouds again.
Look at this! So beautiful!

Rain and clouded sky

Hey guys! So here you got five more posts today. Well I start to keep up again, right? Gotta tell you, this feels really good and even though I will be on the road again next week, you will still get some regular posts. Just need to keep this going or my creativity will just dry out or something. Speaking of dry, a few days ago the weater wasn´t dry at all, but I still had to get outside and organize some stuff. Bad thing was, that my umbrella is still in Bielefeld. So little me had an adventures afternoon running through the rain until it finally ended in the evening as I got back to my new place. But the rain with the light of the sun and later on this cold but clear feeling in the air, were amazing, so I tried to take good shots for you. Hope you like them.

Sadly you don´t see it properly on this photo, but all this bright light here is actually rain.
In the evening the sky was filled with clouds and it seemed to be really dark, but somehow it was also
a bit brighter here and there with some small spots of blue sky.
And the air smelled so fresh and clean, wonderful!
Here the proof for the main dark atmosphere.

The park behind my new "home"

And now that we mentioned the park behind the student residence, I just have to show you some photos. It is so beautiful down there, you know to just go for a walk, sit in the green for some minutes, watch some ducks chasing each other, go jogging, sit down in the cafe and drink something. Whatever you do, actually you are in the middle of the city, but it´s still calm, relaxing and pretty. I feel very lucky, to have this park so close here. To have the possibility for having a place to calm yourself down. No garden you call your own? No problem, go to the park.

That´s the cafe at the park. Haven´t tried it yet,
but it looks really nice.
You even have enough space to make a picknick during summer.
And the tracks for walking/running/jogging are really nice and right next to the water.
The pond there is not very big, but it doesn´t need to be.
And last weekend I was able to watch a really beautiful sunset
through my window here.

My new place (Wohnheim)

Many friends ask me about my new place. And to give a small insight in what a student residence might look like, I thought to show you some photos I also took for my family. It is not much and quite simple, but I already changed it a bit to make it more personal. Maybe, if you like, I could show you some  more photos of my room here in a few weeks. We´ll see how it turnes out.

First things first, had to bring my plushie dog Beethoven with me.
That´s what you see, when you enter. A bed, a desk, a small box with
drawers and a chair. All this was already in the room and sadly I am
not allowed to remove or change them, so I´ll make the best out of them.
On the other side of the room is a closet and a some shelfs for books,
DVDs or what ever you like. Right now I still place my shoes
next to the door, but I want to find something else to do with them.
In the basement we have a party and training room for the whole house, so everyone can come down here to spent some
time with others or (like me) train a bit to tone up. So the best things down here are the billiard table...
...the soccer table and the punching bag. Next to this room is also a small bar for parties and a music room with a piano.
Down in the basement we also have the washing machines and
dryers you can use for some coins.
Every floor has ist own big kitchen, with many cabinets for every student and six refigerators (three people share one).
Furthermore there are two toilets (gender seperated) and three
bathrooms on every floor and a room to hang up wet clothes.
And that´s what the residence looks like on the back sight.

Learning greek and notebooks

As a small update concerning university. Things go pretty good here, there are a lot of interesting courses and projects to attend. During october you might get some nice archaeological posts as I joined a trip to Rome for a few days. We´ll see. The only course I am struggling with is ancient greek. Don´t like dead languages and even though it is no problem for me to learn vocabulary, it is the grammar I always stumble over. Anyway I really do my best, but it would be nicer, if I had a bit more money to buy some awesome gadgets or something to make studying more fun. For example, found those amazing notebooks lately and was really tempted...but don´t have enough money right now. What do you like to do, to pimp up your studying? Let me know in the comments.

This is what it looks like, when I learn vocabulary.
Always running around with books, learning material and water.
Look at those badass notebooks. So awesome!
And I was tempted to get me this as a diary/journal.

Some outfits I wore lately

The warm weather also remained in Hamburg so I´ve decided to wear my black lace skirt. The Outfits turned out really well (with help from my lil´sis) and I wanted to share them, even though the photos aren´t that good. But who knows, maybe I find the time soon, to make a fashion post again. Hope you gonna like these here anyway.

Haha well no, that´s not the skirt, but I also wanted to show, how I run around the house, lately. Cookies!
So here we go. Never wore the skirt that high...but still good.
On a very sunny day I wanted the show my inner mermaid.
Also went a little bit darker with one of my favourite Disney shirts.
On that day I also made a walk through a forest here in Hamburg.
And I wore that outfit twice, but the first time I added my favourite
Cardigan, because it was rather windy in the morning.
